Our client is VAN cargo — a dynamically growing logistics company specializing in comprehensive transport organization and carrier network management across Europe.
To ensure the highest level of IT system security, the client decided to build a Disaster Recovery solution for key business applications. The goal was not only to launch a backup data center but also to move it to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Priorities included business continuity, high availability, and data protection, while avoiding disruptions to daily operations.
The first phase involved replicating the TMS system – the client’s proprietary solution – to OCI, along with the financial and accounting system delivered by an external vendor. The process was then extended to systems supporting suppliers, customers, and employees.
Due to the inability to use other data synchronization methods (such as storage replication or Data Guard) between sites, it was decided to implement Oracle GoldenGate. The key element of the solution was the deployment of this technology, which enabled bidirectional data synchronization between the on-premises environment and OCI. Replication occurs in near real time, with no downtime and no additional load on the source databases.
For many years, Goldenore has supported the client in the areas of architecture, optimization, and database system security. Joint analyses and tests led to the selection of the solution best suited to the organization’s needs, providing flexibility and scalability for future growth. Replication using Oracle GoldenGate is continuously monitored, enhanced, and optimized by the Goldenore team.
